Copper Queens star Misozi confident of win against Namibia in return fixture

Turkey based Copper Queens midfielder Misozi Zulu says playing their match in South Africa does not matter as the squad could have been ready to play Namibia anywhere in the Morocco 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations second leg tie.

The Brave Gladiators of Namibia and the Copper Queens will square off at Dobsonville Stadium in South Africa in the final round, return leg tie after settling for a virgin draw in the first leg in Lusaka.

Speaking after Friday’s morning training session at Edwin Imboela Stadium, the Hakkarigucu Spor star in the Turkcell Kadin Futbol Ligi who missed the first leg will be available for the crunch match on Tuesday.

“We just have to stay focused for Tuesday’s game, it is not a big deal, even if we play from South Africa and not Namibia, us we are going there to win, that is a fact,” Zulu said.

“We have to utilise all chances and score goals, the chances we have, we need to score, we don’t have to miss any,” she said.

Misozi returns to the Copper Queens fold after a long absence that included missing out on the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (played in 2021) said that she is confident that she will be of good use.

“It has been long since I played here but am ready for this game and I know I will help the team, they just have to believe in me, the coach and all the fans,” Zulu said.

“We just have to win this game, I have full confidence in my team, and we will deliver,” She added.

Misozi has been in virtuoso form for her Turkish outfit where she has so far netted eight goals since joining them in October 2021.

Winner over two legs will qualify to the Total Women’s Africa Cup of Nations that will take place from July 2-23 in Morocco.

Top four teams at the tournament will qualify to FIFA World Cup that will be staged in Australia/New Zealand in 2023.
